EVENT DATE:
Saturday, November 14, at 6:30 p.m., at the Vila d’Olocau Assembly Hall.
Talk and discussion followed by a screening of the film La Invasió dels Bàrbars.
A feature film directed by Vicent Monsonís and adapted from Chema Cardeña’s play of the same name, it explores historical memory, Francoist repression, and the consequences suffered by victims and their descendants, which continue to resonate to this day. To do so, the film presents two parallel narratives: that of Esperanza, set in the post-war period, and that of Aurora, set in the present day. The two stories are intertwined and separated by 80 years.
During the discussion with the audience, Chema Cardeña and various members of the film’s crew, including both technical and acting personnel, will take part. To conclude the event, a catering service provided by CatMari will be offered
The event is organised by Olocau Town Council, through its Department of Equality and Women, with the collaboration of @lainvasiodelsbarbars. Admission is free and subject to capacity.
